Ian can teach both individual and joint advanced-standard lessons at his home - Lane End Farm, near Barnstaple in beautiful North Devon. Come for a private one hour lesson or why not board your horse with Ian and stay for longer?
A variety of disciplines can be worked on at all levels including cross country. The purpose-built menage is fully equipped with an excellent range of professional show jumps. Training sessions are held during mornings and afternoons.
Ian regularly teaches more ambitious riders who are on a pathway of progression and looking to improve their knowledge, skills and performance. He also teaches non-competitive riders helping to improve their overall riding abilities.
Instruction can be given to include basic flat work; to an introduction to jumping, pole work and basic grid work. A show jumping course is available along with a variety of single fences.
Ian also teaches to a more advanced standard to improve partnerships that are heading towards, or are competing at, an affiliated level.
Training Weekends at Lane End Farm have a relaxed agenda and the time to train twice a day on a one to one basis with Ian.
Training weekends are super way of giving a horse and rider combination a step up in their training and the boost that is often needed for more confidence and progression. Midweek dates can also be arranged.
After your days' training your horse will be very comfortable in its spacious stable which leaves you free to explore glorious north Devon with its many beautiful beaches and Exmoor National Park.

Ian has acquired a wealth of knowledge from over 30 years working with top trainers, riders and horses in the UK and abroad. He enjoys working at all levels from novice to advanced. Ian offers quality riding tuition in dressage, cross country, show jumping and eventing. Ian is an empathetic equestrian trainer.
When meeting new clients Ian discusses the rider's objectives and goals. These typically range from client riding for pleasure through to advanced competition work. A riding assesment will be completed to produce an individual training programme.
Ian is a BHS Registered Instructor and is DBS checked, a fully certified first aider and also holds the appropriate instructor insurance.
